Can I get away with a splitter for my GPU?

Just about done with my first PC build, and made the mistake of not double checking what type of connection my graphics card required when ordering the PSU.

I have a Radeon HD 6870 card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) that requires dual PCI-express 6-pin power plugs, and a Corsair CX430 V2 PSU with a single 6+2-pin.

I am wondering if I can get away with using a Y splitter to avoid purchasing another PSU. The literature that came with the card says not to use a splitter, but I have read posts from people saying that isn't such a big deal in most cases. My estimated system wattage with this card is 309w on the 430w PSU.

Please let me know what you think or if you need any more info to base your decision on.

Yeah it should be fine. 6+2 pin delivers the same as 2x 6 pin. (150w)
