The add a solution option for replies when helping solve a problem seems to have different choices depending on what category the post is in. Would it be possible to have the team include the "post detailed system specs" option for EVERY category? Regardless of where the post is at i.e., Windows 8, Motherboards, Displays, etc., it seems as though this would be nice to have there as more often than not people posting questions fail to include this information and it's usually needed.

Some of the categories do not have this option listed in there and it is very useful to not have to go to the bookmarked link, copy the shortcut and then go back and paste it every time when it could just be selected from the drop down menu were it to be there. JpIshgar, can we get some love here? I realize we can just ask them to post specs but more often than not without that page as a guide they leave something out that's needed. Thanks.

Suggested this months ago (actually, I wanted a search box), never went anywhere.

Somewhere there's a template for the BBCode that lets you embed a tutorial, but I'm not sure what thread it's in.

Don't know if it adds to the stats, though.

Note that due to the weirdness of the code tag, 'urlExt' needs to be 'url'.

I might have to shut the site down until we get what we want. Smile. You know, things in life would actually see improvements to needed areas if it was as easy as "ok, everything stops until this is fixed". Heh. Well, maybe with enough support for the idea they might consider it. It seems as though it would require minimal additional work to add one option to each drop down.

Yeah, but hard-coding stuff like that is a VERY bad idea. You'll get another dozen people asking why that one gets special treatment and not this other one.

Yeah, I guess. Seems like everybody would benefit from it though. In a perfect world.............

Everybody except the devs, who would get told daily that x/y/z needs to be on the list, and then no-one will be able to find anything on the list because there will be a few dozen entries in it.

Understood, except that the system specs is the ONE thing that every category solution generally needs. Certainly every category has something that would help with that specific category but the system information is relevant to all categories and so should be a non-issue. But I fully understand your point.

Overlord jpishgar is often busy, but his minion has come to chime in!

That'd be a great quality of life change, and the lack of system specs being posted is something I've seen a lot in the short time I've been here. I'll be sure to add it to the next list of bugs and suggestions that I send off to the dev team sometime in the next week or two. Like Someone Somewhere stated, though, this is unlikely to be high on their priority list but it sounds like a fairly small change so it may get done quicker than we expect. In the mean time, please hang tight until it gets added!

Two cheers for the minion. Hip hip hooray. Oh, sorry. I sometimes get overenthusiastic, ask anyone. Heh. Thanks.
