I'm sure this seems like a stupid question, but I just want to make sure before I buy anything. I'm buying wireless headphones to watch TV and movies cause the walls of my condo are fairly thin. Going with the Sennheiser RS160, but only have an optical jack and RCA out. The optical converter is like 40 bucks, where as an RCA adapter is only a few dollars. I'm just trying to find out what the actual sound quality difference will be and if it's worth the money. Thanks!

More about : rca optical

You are going to receive the best quality if you can run optical cable. Keep in mind as well, RCA cannot provide Surround sound, like the Optical can.

In headphones, will the surround sound matter?

To be totally honest, i think the only reason to get headphones other than the fact of being quite is for surround. It makes a world of difference and you will enjoy movies sooo much more :D

Didn't realize that, never used headphones for tv or movies. I'll go with the optical then. Thanks!

Just so you know, these headphones are stereo only.
