hi again, during 3d heavy game like assassin's creed 3, or Mafia 2, i found out that my GPU temp is around 75c, and the fan % speed around the same number. is that normal?
what if i keep playing for 3 or more hours? when does that temp begin to be hazardous?

specs: i7 4770k 3.5 gh, gtx 780 superclocked, 8gb ddr3
thanks: to you all...

75C is not that bad. You can lower it by making sure that the case is well ventilated and has at least 2-3 case fans. Make sure cabling is not blocking airflow or the GPU. Just for reference:

CPU max temp: 85C-90C(Some CPUs can go all the way up to 105C and then they start throttling themselves)
GPU max temp: 95C-100C

Stay within 40C and 80C just to stay on the safe side.
Hope I helped you out, and if you have any more questions, ask away ;)

P.S. Who manufactured the cooler? Is it a EVGA card? Also I really loved the title of the post :p

thanks scout. i liked the title of the post too, that's why i named it like that ;)
there are 2 fans, its mandatory isn't it?
the cooler is "Arctic cooling Freezer 13" for the cpu.
The graphic card is EVGA as you said.
by the way, you didn't say for how long it can stay at 75c without ruin this high priced machine...?

75C is a mostly safe temperature if it only happens during gaming. Usually when someone says a graphics card is "very cool" it means the GPU is around 55C-65C. Not many coolers achieve this great of a temperature when gaming. I would say 75 is fine if you game up to around 6-8 hours everyday. Probably more. Really what I'm trying to say is that 75C is not a very bad temperature if you are playing GPU intensive games.

Another easy way to make sure you stay cool is cleaning out dust. Compressed air will do an amazing job. I don't think its very expensive either. Also make sure that the case fan that is taking air into the case is not on the bottom. That fan needs to pull in cold air and the exhaust fan can be across the case from the intake fan or you can put it on the bottom. I would recommend having 3 fans. 2 intake and 1 exhaust or the other way around. Also make sure the GPU fan(s) are/is not covered by anything.

It would be a safe measure to just ramp the fans to 90%-100%

With those blower type Gpu coolers it is better to have positive air pressure inside the case, so more intake fans than exhausts (or higher cfm ones).

edit gpu, not cpu

Thanks for the correction, intake/exhaust isn't my best subject.

that's good news guys, thank you as ever
by the way, it might be a good idea to leave this thread open (not solved) as more Questions will probably rise up as my 'oven' cooks itself...

Well if it is closed, feel free to PM me. I'm usually active in the afternoon and night on Eastern time.

well here's some more good news; since you made this thread a 'discussion thread' rather than a 'question thread' there won't be any best answers in this one and unless a mod locks it this thread will remain open :D

that was the idea, as i continue frying toasts on my case while gaming. but you experts said its OK, so i'm both relaxed AND not hungry anymore
