I was just speaking to a gaming computer salesman and he had told me that if I'm planning to order a high-end Nvidia graphics card system (I told him I was considering 3x Titan Black.. I also had told him I was waiting on a 4k g-sync monitor) that I should wait a week before I place an order with them. When I asked him what I was waiting for, he told me he was under NDA with Nvidia.
Does anyone know what this secret release coming out in about 1 week is or is rumoured to be?
Thanks!

We don't know for sure it will be next week, in fact I doubt it, but sometime soon there will be a completely new lineup of GPUs. I would hold off unless you urgently need a new GPU.

Probably him getting a slightly higher commission.

Seriously though, 3 Titan Blacks is just a bad decision, just get 3 780 Tis and OC them instead, thats all the titan black is, no reason to pay 30% more for a 1.5% factory OC

The gtx 970 and gtx 980 is going to be released in mid September.

I had asked him if there would be any new flagship cards soon, and he had told me that the Blacks just came out 3 months ago, so nothing on the horizon. So I am unsure if it was a new card... If it is the 970 or 980, would those be beating the Titans?
He told me to keep an eye on Tom's Hardware...

I'm not sure I would get the 3 Blacks, but I really want to know why he told me not to order for another week.
Any other ideas of what it might be?

The GTX900 series (their skipping 800) is what has been rumoured to be the subject of the NDA thats lifting next week.

Also I agree with Hunter, triple Titan Blacks are pointless for gaming. The "Titan" branding means that its the best of their GeForce lineup combined with middling compute performance (for professional applications). The Titan Black and 780Ti are the exact same card when it comes to gaming, its just the Black has more CUDA and memory, which you would care about if you were doing 3D modelling, video production, etc.

Thanks ManOfChalk, that does sound like you could be correct.
So if I am considerding the 3x 780Ti now (thanks to you 2 pointing out it is a waste of $900)... Is it safe to assume that the 900 series will beat these 780s?

All we know is the Maxwell architecture that's currently in the gtx 750ti. The shaders themselves are around 33 percent faster then kepler cores. So we can just speculate as to what the 970 and 980 will have for resources. But definitely worth waiting a few days to find out before you buy.
