How well will my GTX 690 perform on the 34" 3440x1440 21:9 LG 34UM95?

My lovely 27" 1440p Yamakasi Q2703 just died last night :(. My GTX 690 ran games on ultra with low to no anti-aliasing (bc who needs AA when you've got hi-res!). As I was looking for a replacement 1440p monitor, I fell upon the 34" LG 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor, and it looks fricken amazing! I'm just wondering how you guys think my GTX 690 will perform with this monitor. Will I be able to play on ultra still? High settings? They say that its 30% more demanding than a 1440p monitor. I'm worried that the 2gb of usable VRAM in the 690 will hinder its performance at this higher resolution. Any thoughts?

Not very well I imagine! That is seriously high resolution for a card with only 2GB of VRAM. The VRAM envelope is already pushed by games; games that can exceed 2GB when on ultra. I would advise no less than 4GB of VRAM for a monitor with that resolution if you plan on playing games on high - ultra.

3440x1440 UltraWide Gaming Benchmark with GTX 780…: http://youtu.be/U3CjgAajalA

I found this video thats helping me decide if I should go for the 34UM95 3440x1440 res monitor and I just picked up a EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 ... someone responded to my post that has a 970 running 2560x1440 and he said he gets 60 fps with some occasional dips.

Hope this helps answer your question...with your card it wot work very well that 780 windstorm was dipping in to the 20s on some very demanding games.
