Greetings

I'm looking for a low to mid range gaming rig without any OC support. I mainly play world of warcraft and dota 2 but I also play other pc games like BF4,Crysis3. I'm taking i5 4590 cpu and I'm kind of stuck choosing the motherboard among these
1. Asrock b85 Fatality Killer
2. Asus b85 Pro Gamer
3. MSI h87 G43 Gamin and
4. Gigabyte G1 Sniper B5
Please suggest me the best motherboard for gaming among these,

Also I am not able to choose between
1. Nvidia GTX 770 Vaporx and
2. Amd r9 280x.
Please also suggest me the best graphics card for me between these two.

I'm thinking of taking 4gb of ram 1600mhz, will it be enough? or do I need 8gb. Suggest me RAM also between these
1. Corsair Vengeance
2. Gskill Ripjaw

And what is the minimum recommended power supply I need for smooth operation.
my final decision will be based on the suggestion you guys give.

Sorry for the trouble and Thanks in advance.

(sry my english is bad)

Get the r9 290 instead of gtx770.Yes 290 not 280X
Of the boards listed the Sniper is the best for gaming
G Skill ripjaws are usually better value and 8GB is a good sweet spot. Both are good though,so whichever is cheaper.

All of the motherboards will do and have a good soundchip which is nice.I would pick the cheapest one.Only when needing raid possibilities and more sata 3 connectors should you really look at the msi H87 board.

The r9 280X and gtx 770 are about equal in performance,it depends on the game played,so imo get the R9 280X if that is significantly cheaper. For power should a good 500/550watt psu be good enough.

550 to 600W with the R9 290.

is H97 chipset will perform better, how about MSI h97 gaming 3 motherboard? will it be better than those 4 mentioned above ? (http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H97_GAMING_3.html#hero-ov...)

It will probably perform about the same as the other four.Like i saod, only when needing raid options or more sata 3 ports do you really need a H97 chipset. If how it looks matters take a look at that too.

That psu is a fine choice and each of those motherboards will do good too.

For differences between chipsets,

just to make clear whats different between B85 and H87.

Just looked again at that cpu which is a haswell refresh, this is natively supported by the H97 motherboard,
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H97_GAMING_3.html#hero-ov...
the others need a bios update for it and probably will come with that, but this one will certainly support that 4590.

Asrock and Asus have cpu-less bios updates incase they are not up to date, but yes,a H97 would be ideal because of the HR cpu.
September 11, 2014 1:42:02 PM

that was a very important point you guys make about bios update and HR cpu, I've checked the asrock b85 killer cpu support list and it supports HR cpu with bios version P1.10 which is the default/oldest bios version, so I assume it will support my 4590 HR without an update, please correct me if i'm wrong. ( cpu support list http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/Fatal1ty%20B85%20Killer/... )

I'm gonna buy the system in 2-3 days and surely tell u guys how it is doing/satisfying. (little worried about mounting the cpu correctly without bending the socket pins :D  )

Thnx again for kind and suggestive co-operation. cheers ^^

p.s. about msi board, idk i'm not sure about their build quality and longevity so gonna skip that choice and about the graphics card I also may gather some money in upcoming 3-4 months and buy a power color r9 290 turbo instead buying 280x right now.

my main intention is to build a pc with a mid to high end gpu with OK type motherboard+cpu rather than buying expensive Z97 motherboards with i7 cpu; as games are now more gpu intensive and i believe with a good gpu and i5 4590 I can play all the games pretty well. Hope I'm making the right decision.

and for r9 290 will be that psu i choose will do the job or do i need a better one? http://ucc-bd.com/smart-se-modular-530w-atx-2-3-eps-2-9...

With the b85 from asrock is the default bios where it says "all" behind, but the 1.10 bios is from april so i imagine it will be good.

With the cpu, just look carefully at the notches and arrow point on the corner to line up with the points in and around the socket.Place it gently and you'll be fine.
Maybe take a look again,
http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/2591/build-your-own-pc-...

Which gpu you go for is up to you,but that psu will also be fine with the r9 290 and the i5 4590.
