I have an AMD 8120. The original clock speed is 3.1 Ghz and I have it overclocked to 4.1 Ghz. Will there be any real difference if I upgrade to a newer AM3+ processor and is it worth the money?

PC Specs:
CPU - AMD 8120
RAM - 16GB 1333Mhz
GPU - Crossfire R9 290s
Storage - 1TB SSHD and 240GB SSD

IDK if it's heavily bottle necking. I've never seen the CPU usage hit 100% and I run every game on the highest settings with no issue. It's just a CPU I've had for over 2 years now and I am just asking for advice if I should upgrade. I've pretty much upgraded everything else so far, including the case. I'll just hold off and see what comes out this holiday season and maybe upgrade the MOBO and CPU together.

In games that are more heavily multithreaded, you are probably doing well. In many titles, that are not as well threaded, even an old Phenom II X4 965 is faster. Those chips were not called faildozer for nothing.
