Hey Guys,

I'm looking to build my first gaming rig. I would like to play games like Skyrim, Fallout 3, BF3 on High Settings. Looking to spend ~$700 not including Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse/OS. Any thoughts?

Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A LGA 1150 Intel Z97 Link $119.99
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 270 Link $159.99 (after rebate)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaw Series (2x4GB) Link $79.99
HD: Seagate Barricuda 1TB Link $54.99
Case: ENERMAX Ostrog GT Link $59.99
PSU: Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Modular Link $64.99
Total Cost: 739.93

thanks for the quick response, how do you think this will perform on newer, more graphics intense games? I'll probably be sticking with a 1080p monitor.

It is enough, though I would recommend a higher quality PSU for gaming. You haven't said that you're overclocking so it doesn't have to be fantastic, but the Antec TruePower series is a better line of theirs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371071&cm_re=antec_550-_-17-371-071-_-Product

As far as the more graphic-intensive ones, such as BF4, Metro: Last Light or Watch Dogs, you might upgrade a little to the GTX 770 or the R9 280X if you want to run them on the highest settings, both of which are excellent cards
