Why does my ultra gaming computer run like a computer from the 90s?

Hi, My name is Howard and my computer only gets 10 fps on games that it should get 180 fps running, but games that should only be getting 20 fps run at 120. Any help on why my computer does that? The specs are:
Geforce GT 7900 GS
8GB Rip-Jaws G-Skill High performance memory
6 core Amd CPU

Its a pretty old gpu, so how can you expect it to run modern titles at such high fps? Upgrade to a newer gpu

It still is a 6 core with 8gb gaming ram. And it lags on games like minecraft...

The system has to work together in order to run games efficiently.
Cores has little to do with performance in the long run, but a graphics card does. Yours is very old, thus rendering performance negligible.
