New build and can't decide

I am just wondering before I go splashing out any money on a new rig which I was intending doing on a Asus Rampage IV Extreme X79 Board / i7 4930K or would it just be better off getting a Asus ROG Rampage V Extreme X99 / i7-5820K or 5930K to ensure that it is going to be future proof and ready for the next gen components. The machine is mainly going to be used for gaming, video/music editing (Sony Vegas and FL studio) with multiple programmes running in the background.
I plan on upgrading and adding more pieces to the hardware side over the next couple of months.

I am currently running a 780 TI on a I5 that I have had now nearly 3years

I wouldn't upgrade to Haswell-E. I think a i5 and a 780 ti are great together and shouldn't be upgraded
