I was just wondering if using a heavy cpu cooler would cause any damage to the motherboard in the long run as they hang off they side. I'm planning on getting the Noctua nh-d15s and their specs say they weigh 1320g which is one of the heaviest coolers I've seen apart from the pure copper ones, so could it cause any potential damage to my Asus Z97-Pro motherboard?

I doubt a properly mounted heat-sink damages the mobo unless its mounting screws are too much tight.

Oh okay thanks. Anyways does anyone know of any air coolers that are lighter than the d15s but offer similar performance?
