That is exactly what I am thinking too.

First thing I did when I encountered my first auto-play video was hunt down an option to turn it off but by the time I found it, I had already triggered 4-5 unwanted video playbacks.

yeah my feed has turned into 90% video. "Your friends shared this video"

i highly doubt my friends are purposely sharing the video's every day, facebook is just junking up my feed.

For the Android app: App Settings -> Video Auto-Play -> Off

Blast, I was hoping for the web page itself. I have a Windows phone and already disabled videos for the most part.

Yeah, I found it after poking around again. They change the settings layout so often that I don't even remember seeing the option last time I checked all the security settings.
