Admirable
A few changes, it should make it a much better gaming machine though

thanks for all the info peeps much appreciated. and i apologize for the newb question, but thats what i am, if i wanted to use amd's mantle thing with gta 5 etc only gpu matters right?

edit: also if i wanted to save the money on cooling go with the evo 212, should i get a better amd gpu? if so which one?

The next step up from the 290 is the 290x, but it is a big step up in price. Not worth it in my opinion as by the time the 290 isn't keeping up with games anymore and much newer and better card than the 290x will be out and for less money too.

i retooled a little and forgot i need a sound card... is this one ok? and don't i need a motherboard with a SATAe or pci-e?

edit: keep in mind this will be in 6 plus months so prices for certain things will probably drop

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/jupacshalom23/saved/2ycgXL

edit2:also let me know if this is a problem: The Cooler Master COSMOS SE ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 395mm long, but video cards over 276mm may block drive bays. Since the Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card is 294mm long, some drive bays may not be usable. Is the cpu cooler that comes with the core i7 no good?

I hear nothing but bad things about Creative sound cards. If you are going to get a sound card, get an ASUS Xonar.

But why do you need a sound card? Onboard sound in motherboards is pretty dang good nowadays. I am a home theater enthusiast and have really nice audio equipment hooked up to my pc and I am perfectly happy with my motherboard's built in sound. I'd only recommend a dedicated sound card if you are a professional audio engineer or movie editor.

If you're getting the build in 6 months, you should just wait until 2 months or a 1 month before. There's no point in buying parts now or configuring a build.

Agreed, who knows what will be out in 6 months.

I would avoid gigabyte graphics cards. They tend to have quality issues. I made up a build, trying to hit the ballpark price of the OP system.

thanks a lot logain, and everyone else too, your build looks very interesting and i have saved it, as far as ballpark you hit that nail on the head, although i am very partial to that coolermaster cosmos (but it costs a fortune) i like the metal handles that elevate it off the floor. Concerns about the timing are understandable, but i would like as much time as possible to learn and compare etc. But then again i guess i shouldn't have called the thread "final build" that's my fault but i don't see it changing drastically. As far as the audio card, i hear you and if i can avoid spending money on it i will... but will i be able to use surround sound, etc to the best of its ability should i decide to do so?

does that mobo have pci-e slots for the wireless network adapter? not sure if sata-e serves as that, it is all somewhat confusing to me, looking at the pic it seems to have 4 slots for ram and at least 3 sata 6's for the gpu, but where does that wireless adapter install?

GPU does not hook to Sata. It plugs into the x16 PCI-E slots. Wireless adapters are x1 slot, which is the smaller black slots, next the longer red x16 slots, on that board, so you are good to go. Probably can just plug it into the top slot. If not, the other 2 will work as well.

What is the difference between radeon r9 290 windforce and the tri-x ones you have on this build? I was looking at the details and they look pretty similar, is it a reliability issue?
