Sounds like a loose connection or a bad ground. Will the radio work properly if the vehicle never moves (like during the ACC key position)? If so, and you bump the dash, does anything happen?

No it always does it even when it truck is in ACC in the mornings when i get to school i turn the key to ACC and it still freezes, but when i get to school in the morning i will bump the dash and see what happens

Ok i will try that thank you so much!! If that is not the problem could i take the radio out and hook it to a 12volt battery and see if it still freezes?

Yes, I would try outside of the vehicle and test as well. If it checks out on the battery, you may have a bad ground in the vehicle wiring. Do you have any issues with lights that seem to flicker or dim for no reason?

No i have no issues with the lights but sometimes when i turn the volume up to the amp it dims the lights as the bass hits. All of this started after i put a new battery in

On your battery, make sure the terminals are tightly attached (you should not be able to twist the terminal connectors by hand for example). Also, look for the grounding strap for your vehicle and make sure it isn't corroded away/detached (between firewall and engine block). See this link for what I am talking about:

The ground battery cable was a little corroded so i got some cleaner and cleaned it off and i checked the strap now it works it does not freeze any more. Thank you so much!!!
