Hard drive configurations for a gaming rig?

I've heard it's not cool to stripe SSDs anymore - minimal speed increase, increased failure etc.

This new build I am doing will only be using SSDs - Samsung 850s with 10 year warranty -- (I don't want a dead drive on this machine during its life!)

so my question is how should I configure the OS and SSds to support gaming and work?

I have a single 512gb SSD for the OS and apps but got to thinking that it won't be enough to hold games since all the new ones are at least 20 gbs a piece, also it made sense to get a second drive for Data (just files and a couple gigs of pics).

512 [?] - SSD OS, programs
512 [?] SSD Games?
128 [?] - SSD Data

Or I could just return the 512 I already have and get a single 1GB - what do you guys think.

Most Win7/8.1 installs are about 16-20GB. Most apps aren't big installs. After that you're going to have a LOT of overhead for games on a 512GB SSD. That is unless you install, keep, and play about 20+ 20GB games installed on your computer at once. If that's the case you have other problems son.
