About One and a half months ago I build my first gaming PC, here are the parts: 8GB corsair vengeance RAM, 1TB WD Blue HDD, Asus Maximus vii ranger motherboard, intel i5 4690K cpu, stock cooler (None OC) and no graphics card (Running on integrated) Waiting for 900 series.

And today my PSU started making a humming and electrical noises which i thought was strange as its never done this before, i removed it checked nothing was blocking the fan or got stuck, and unplugged all the cables and reattached them again but the problem persisted, I then restored the BIOS to stock to ensure it wasn't a voltage issue, but none of this helped. Scared it could damage my other components or worse set fire (Might just be me!) I have removed the PSU and I am buying packing material to ship it in for a RMA.

I was wondering if anyone has had the same / similar problem or can share any information about my issue.

Thanks
Joseph

Well, you didn't list the most important spec, which is the brand and model number of the PSU. How can anybody offer any advice in regards to your issue without knowing what kind of PSU you have. Although, if the PSU is humming and making abnormal sounds, it's a sure bet something is wrong with it and should be replaced. What IS the brand and model number. It doesn't happen to be a Thermaltake PSU does it?
