Should people go for the -87 or -97 chipsets?

Now that the H97 and Z97 series is in the market, the question arises whether we should buy a H97 or H87 (as an example) for our next build.

Note, that I'm not going into discussion of overclocking and other kind of stuff - that's a different discussion altogether.

The -97 series will be supporting the "5th Generation" Broadwell processors when they come out. Don't know what the pros and cons of Broadwell are, but I'd say go for the newer chipset.

When I was buying this computer in 2008, I got fooled into buying a 945GC series motherboard, which doesn't support the newer Wolfdale series core 2 duo's, which, funnily, were released in January, and I was buying my PC in May.
If I had done a little research, I'd not be stuck with my core 2 duo e4600 today.

So from this past (ill)experience, I'd say go for the -97 series.
Discussion welcome.
