Should I upgrade to 970 or get a better PSU and get another 760?

This is all pretty much speculation, but I might actually do this. What do you guys think? Since Maxwell has way better power consumption so I could still use a 970 on a 500w psu! What should I do??

More about : upgrade 970 psu 760

just sell the current 760 then go and get a 970.

There is no way to say this as the 900 series has not even been released yet. I would wait until confirmed true benchmarks hit and then you can make a more informed decision. However, I am willing to bet that two 760's will get better performance than a single 970. There is the power consumption issue though. If the 970 can come in a much much lower power consumption, and the performance increase is worth the cost to you, then I would think about upgrading to a single 970 which you could then SLI in the future (unless you run into the same issue in the future if you have a single 970 lol).

The 760 is still a halfway decent card and is not exactly a slouch. However, if you can sell it and get a decent amount to put towards a 970 then go for it, but again, I would wait for benchmarks to see if the all the hype will live up to expectations.

Haha,

Time zone differences :p .

Yeah, the card seems to be a substantial upgrade. I would try to sell and go with a 970. It would allow you to get a decent performance increase while allowing you to keep the same PSU.

yep. so the 970 will offer you 780-ti'esque performance at the power consumption of a 760.
