A laptop can be a great tool for students and professionals, or a portable gaming/media device for just about anybody, but it's not much more than an expensive paperweight if it isn't working correctly! To that end, we want to provide you with the resources and information needed to repair and maintain your laptops.

  • Have any more tips? Solution to a common problem? Have you written a tutorial that you'd like to contribute? Share them with us! We'd love to hear more from you!

  • How to Reset A Chromebook to Factory Settings:
    1. Create a USB recovery drive from either your Chromebook or a PC.
    2. Press [Esc], [Refresh]/F3, and the power button when your Chromebook is off.
    3. You will see a screen that says Chrome OS is missing or damaged. At this time put in the USB recovery drive.
    4. Wait for the process to finish. Once it says it's finished and tells you to remove the USB recovery drive, pull it out of the Chromebook. (There is no safe remove option but so far I have had no corrupted data on my recovery drive.)
    5. The Chromebook will automatically restart and you will see the setup screen when it finishes booting. You're done!

UPDATE NOTE Sorry, when I replied to this thread I thought these were questions people had. Not questions that were already answered.
