I have been looking for pc parts for months but am uncertain what I exactly am looking for. I want a PC to play Skyrim with lots of mods, many of them heavy overhauls and expansions on ultra with at least 30 fps. I have $ 2000 but do not want to spend all of them, but I'd prefer a computer that costs around $1000.

I don't know whether I need a $ 300-600 intel processor or just an amd FX8350, which costs much less. I have also heard that new processors are coming out next month, so I don't know if I should wait or buy the current generation of processors.

As for graphics, I've heard that amd graphics are good with amd processors and intel is good with nVidia. So I intend on playing on standard full resolution, NOT 2k or 4k. After that, I just want at least 30fps for heavily modded Skyrim on Ultra and also medium/high settings for PlanetSide 2. So I don't know if I need a gtx 770, or an R9 270X, or R9 290X, or some older generation amd 7000-something.

I was also thinking about 16 GB of RAM, and salvaging an old hard drive and other parts from an old non-gaming computer for main hard drive, and adding a WD Blue 1TB hard drive to hold my games (Would that be possible?).

However, I want a HAF 912 Case and a new motherboard, but am uncertain if I need a cooling fan. For power supply, I know 750 W would be more than enough, but what would you guys recommend?

Thank you for your time, I really want a gaming computer but am completely lost.

Well I have a i7 laptop with integrated graphics and 8GB RAM on lowest settings and 30 fps and sometimes skyrim CTD but I guess you could fix that with a mod and a better pc.

"
You do not need 16gb RAM for gaming. 8gb will be plenty.

The build posted above is not bad. Change the CPU to a 4690k and it is good to go.
"
yep I read on another post that 4690K is better than 4670K, so is a gtx 970 better than gtx 760 or 770?
Also how many fps would I get with that 4690K build?

and would the double hard drive ruin my performance? The old HD is the main one. Maybe just go with a new WD 1TB?
would a fx 8350 and amd r9 280x be able to do the same as 4690K and gtx 970? I mean 60fps at 1080p?

OK thank you guys, I will look into retailers for the parts you listed, thank you tiny voices and Bhavneet Pannu. I just hope the parts come with a three year warranty or otherwise I can get a premade custom pc.
Thanks!
