Hello masters of this forum, i have Digital Alliance Bullet 400 watt (peak 450) it is OEM from FSP product.

http://www.digitalalliance.co.id/product/power-supply/item/da-bullet-400-w

is it possible for me to run R9 270 with this PSU or i just choose R7 265 instead ??

Im using COre i3-4130 with H81M motherboard so its not power hungry.

My FIrst target is Palit GTX 750 Ti StormX DUal actually but it seems rather hard to found in my area so i choose the Radeon one.

thanks !!

I don't think that PSU has enough juice for an R9 270, and the figures stated by the manufacturer don't add up.

For starters, they state that the continuous total output power is 450W, but they also state that the max combined wattage is 120W and 386W, which makes 506W in total.

To make things more complicated, you can work out the true wattage by doing the calculation 'voltage x ampere'. For example, if you take 3.3V x 24A, that gives you 79.2W. Now, if you apply this calculation to every voltage rail (+3.3V, +5V, +12V, -12V, +5VSB) these are the wattages you get.

+3.3V - 79.2W
+5V - 75W
+12V - 204W
-12V - 3.6W
+5VSB - 12.5W

If you add these wattages together, you have 374.3W. Remember that the manufacturer quotes this PSU as having a continuous total output power of 450W and a max combined wattage of 506W. Now you have three different total wattage figures, 450W, 506W and 374.3W, so which one is correct?

Around 80% of PC components, including the GPU, use the +12V rail. With only 17A and 204W, an R9 270 is off the cards. Unfortunately, so is an R7 265, which requires 500W and 24A.
