I will be upgrading my video card this next month and was looking to build a mini PC around my old card for a 4k home theater system. I need some advice on some decent budget components; mini cases, cpus and motherboards. I also have the Ram, HDD and PSU selected so no advice needed there. I mostly build high power gaming systems so have very little familiarity with the budget/low power components so shoot me what you've seen/used and think is good. Please keep in mind I'd also like the components to be able to be somewhat future proof.

Thank you in advance for reading/responding:)

The bad thing is that there aren't really any super powerful cards out there that will be adept for high quality gaming on 4K if you want to use the standard mATX HTPC form factor. Most cases in this range won't accept full size GPUs. About the closest you can get is something like the Sapphire Radeon R9-285 ITX version ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ).

Unless you want to go with a case like this that will support full ATX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

What components do you already have?

I have a 660 TI, 8 GB of Ram, a 500W PSU and a couple spare HDDs. I won't be using this for gaming just content consumption on a 4k TV.

OK for that usage a 660TI will work fine, the problem I could see is finding a case for one. What about the PSU? What model is it?

you can see if a different type of case suits you, instead of getting a htpc case. heres some that i think could do good for htpcs but also fit full sized components:

i think the first silverstone one would work the best for an htpc type use

yea, g-unit is right. the previous models of the lower end evga 500b/600b arent the best, but it should work fine.

just a side note, the new b series from evga is being made by superflower now (or a differnt high end maker, im pretty sure its superflower)

According to Jonnyguru, the B series is Superflower, but it's not the Leadex platform that the G2s and P2s have that makes those units better. It's still not a bad unit though: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=...
