Hey guys, I understand coil whine is a problem most GPU's suffer from, my old MSI GTX 770 had it as well, but no where near as loud and high pitched as my EVGA GTX 970. I have the ACX 2.0 Superclocked to be exact. I did some searching around, and it seems many others with EVGA 970's have this same problem and many are contemplating returning the card for a different brand.

I've already started the RMA process, I don't mind my GPU making some noise, but the amount the EVGA 970 makes while under load is downright unacceptable. It's extremely high pitched and loud enough to fill up the room I'm in, so I'm going to return it for a different card, or even wait and save more for a 980 instead.

Anyone else with EVGA 970's having unacceptably loud coil whine?

From what I have heard the Asus Strix 970 has no coil whine, you arent the first person to complain about the evga noise though.

Yeah, I was contemplating an Asus or MSI card if I do stick with the 970. Unfortunate, I heard nothing but good about EVGA prior to this.

Yeah usually they are good, but they are coming under fire for the "fake 3rd heatpipe" on their 970.
