Here is a quick link to what I have put together so far, not sure if theres somewhere I'm spending too much or too little, so if you have any opinions let me know:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/j.r_leonard/saved/KWCZxr

Approximate Purchase Date: before the new year

Budget Range: $900-$1200

System Usage from Most to Least Important: *Gaming*, surfing, playing video

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: pcpartpicker.com, Amazon.com, Newegg.com

Location: Maryland, close-ish to a Micro Center in Towson.

Parts Preferences: Anything reliable, not a Gigabyte fan.

Overclocking: Maybe. Probably so, but it is my first build so not sure yet. Is it a good idea to OC on a first build?

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: I am looking at the Asus VX238H 23" with a 1920x1080 Res

I have read up on a fair amount of stuff but would like to hear what everyone thought about all of this together, and if I've missed something that I should really be putting more focus on to get the gaming PC I want. I want to be able to play games like ARMA3, BF4 and DAYZ

**BTW I went with a 270 in hopes that maybe I can OC it to give me similar output of a 270X (according to the reviews I have read, this is fairly common) and also figuring I may add a second 270 in the near future (6 months) to bring my graphics up... But if you think spending more right from the start is a better bet, let me know. I just cant really go much higher than $1200 total.

Thanks!

Id swap out the graphics card for
GTX 970

The cpu cooler looks to be worse than the standard part , or not much better

The mb is red and the RAM is blue . I would color match them . Probably by not using an MSI motherboard
