Hello Techie's,

I'm planning the upgrade my old P4 pc which is around 12 years old ;) finally, with some latest resources as following :-

1) Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H Motherboard
2) Intel i3 3220 Processor
3) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)

4) With old IDE Disk of 150 GB HDD and old CD Rom and SMPS Fan as it has.

Q1 I need your suggestion if the above mentioned works fine with mobo or not ?

Q2 Mobo supports 1333/1600 MHz and Ram is 1600 MHz but somewhere is read it required something for working, is that so then what is that ?

Q3 I"m aware that mobo has STORAGE (SATA 6 Gb/s Intel B75 Express Chipset & SATA 3 Gb/s Intel B75 Express Chipset) and it will required ide to sata converter for hdd connection , is that right ?

Q4 What about Cd/DVD Rom Will it work with that or that also required something to work ?

Thanks guys in advance looking for the Suggesions asap. (I'm not much hardware techi person but have interest so trying this). :D

Thanks & Regards,
Sachin

1) You need the new bios ( at least F10 for the B75M-D3H ) so that the MB can use the i3 3220. I recommend to get H77 so that you don't need update the BIOS and can use them out of box.
B75M-D3H cpu support list http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4803
2) The RAM is compatible.
3) If the CD/DVD is the ide type, it can't be use on that MB, because the new MB use the new SATA type connector, also the ide HDD is not compatible too in the same reason. If you buy the ide to sata adapter, you may or may not get problem. I recommend to buy the new SATA type of the CD/DVD and HDD.

Hey cin19,

This is my post and really like as i got the response on the same day here as on many forum ppl's just see and forget to answer , so a big thanks to you first :).

1) I hope the F10 bios driver can be freely downlodable using (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4803#bios) that's it ?

2) I ordered for that Ram :D

3) If IDE to Sata connector won't work then they'll increase my budget so i hope they'll work .

Any other suggestion which you want to give me :)

The F10 BIOS was released in August 2012. It is hard to believe that you would buy a new motherboard that doesn't have at least the F10 version installed. I read a review from Newegg that the buyer got F14 in November 2013.
