Yes it is is the same thing, the only difference its that its an updated version of the pci express 1.0 but its the same thing and you could use a pci express 1.0 on a 1.1

Suggest me cheap gfx card for 1080p smooth videoplayback?
September 27, 2014 9:54:19 PM

How cheap?

Nvidia only or AMD also?

GTX 750Ti is a good choice, but make sure you list other components in case of bottlenecking issues (for other cards power consumption (PSU)).

750ti would be bottlenecked by my specs
...
Intel E2180
550w psu
2gb ram max supported by mobo ddr2

Any company no big deal.

I would get an R7 250 Then, DDR3/DDR5.

He needs it just for video playback than the DDR5 version is not required
- the ddr5 will not perform at its peak so DDR3 is better
September 27, 2014 10:07:59 PM

Wouldn't 250 be bottlenecked by 2180?

The DDR5 was listed as many places don't sell the DDR3 anymore, a factor of where he lives.

The R7 250 would be the limit, though technically all cards have a degree of bottlenecking.

Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5450 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card
Will this play 1080p ?

If DDR3 is available than it is the best choice , it will decrease the chances of bottlenecks
ddr5 cards have a very high bandwidth which the PCI-e 1.1 can not afford
September 27, 2014 10:22:41 PM

"ddr5 cards have a very high bandwidth which the PCI-e 1.1 can not afford " With low-end DDR5 cards listed, it's more about the CPU, not the slot. That cpu can handle the lower end DDR5 cards, with a small to noticeable difference over DDR3 based cards.

sorry bro i was referring to the slot and the bandwidth of the motherboard
but yeah the processor he mentioned is quite old so any middle range GPU can be bottlenecked
i guess just for videos the GT 610 or 5450 is good but i recommend the GT 640 ddr3
the recommended screen size for HD 5450 is 1024 x 768 that's why i'm referring to GT 640
September 27, 2014 10:29:16 PM

The bandwidth of the Motherboard will not be the first to limit the card, the CPU will.

any low-end card can play 1080p movies.
September 27, 2014 10:41:26 PM

i just need to be sure that i t can handle 1080 coz w/o gfx card it can play 720p .. it would be useless if couldn't handle 1080p

That doesn't make sense, you were asking about;

1) Quick Question : does pcie revision 1.1 means that it is pcie 1.1 slot ?

2) Suggest me cheap gfx card for 1080p smooth videoplayback?

It is always best to close the thread. I can't as no badges are tagged in this thread in which i have.
