Thinking about upgrading to a GTX 970 as i don't think AMD is going to come out with anything to compete with it anytime soon.

My PC specs are

Mobo: ASRock 970 Extreme4

Cpu: AMD Phenom II X4 965

GPU: Radeon HD 7770

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 1600 MHz

PSU: Corsair CX Series 750 Watt

HDD: 1 TB (Seagate i think)

Also I also heard ram can bottle neck a a gpu to, is my ram enough? Thanks...

Your ram is fine.
However your GPU will be bottlenecked by that processor. If you OC the 965 to 4GHz it can support a 760 with no bottleneck, anything more than that and it wont help, the clock speeds wont alleviate a bottleneck past that.

Oh thanks for the reply. What Processors would u recommend I get for it? My Mobo is AM3+ i believe so it will only take AMDs cpus, what is a good AMD Cpu to got with a gtx 970?

Or should i wait for Amd to release a new card so i can have a amd cpu and gpu? I heard somewhere that you get extra advantages if both the processor and gpu are from amd, although i don't know how true that is.

There is no real benefit to getting matching brands, thats a common misconception.
For processors, if its an AM3+ look into the 8320, that would be the only considerable upgrade from the 965 without moving to the intel side.

Im holding out on my 965 until I can afford a 4690k and Z97 board.
