Hi,

It's my birthday soon and I've been saving up like mad for a new build. I mean I think it's time since my current pc is 3 years old. I've put hardware together and I'm just looking for some advice to see if these hardware choices are good (together). I mainly will be using it for gaming and everyday stuff.

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Ranger Motherboard
RAM: I have 16GB from my old pc I will use.
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K
CPU cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 280mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
SSD(mSATA): Samsung 840 EVO Series 250GB mSATA + have 256GB SSD from old pc I will be using
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001 + have 2TB from old pc I will be using
GPU: Galax GeForce GTX 970 Extreme Overclocked 4GB x2 in SLI
Power supply: Corsair HX1000i 80 Plus Platinum 1000W Power Supply
Case: NZXT H440 Mid Tower Case Black/Red

Extra's:
Keyboard: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Cherry Red
Headset: Razer Tiamat 7.1 Gaming Headset
External optical drive: Hotway External Slim DVD Burner USB 2.0

This will cost me around $2800 AUD.

$20 AUD cheaper and it is actually slightly more powerful. Pretty much the same thing but it has a 780ti which is a little better than the newer 980(marketed to compete with 780 not ti version).
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I hope I helped you out :)

Thanks for your input! I'm just wondering why that setup is slightly more powerful? You only have 1 GPU.

I've got the Corsair H100i in my current pc. It's good but I want something newer.

"SSD(mSATA): Samsung 840 EVO Series 250GB mSATA + have 256GB SSD from old pc I will be using" I changed the mSATA drive for a Crucial M550

M.2 256GB SSD

Ricardo, I would just go with the sli gtx 970, that is much stronger than a single gtx 780 ti BUT get the gigabyte or MSI version of the gtx 970 card, for better cooling and speed (Gigabyte) or overclocking and cooling (MSI). Also, you might want to change the cpu cooler to a Noctua NH-D14 to save some money (Around $50) and it is a pretty silent cpu cooler.

Thanks @sparestuff. I've chosen to go with Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Windforce OC 4GB in SLi. After going closed loop CPU water cooling I haven't gone back to CPU fans. Why would you pick the Noctua NH-D14 over NZXT Kraken X61?
