Hi all.

With the recent drop of Maxwell the older nVidia cards are being sold at significantly reduced prices and the looming release of games like The Witcher 3, I have been looking at adding a 2nd card to my rig and rolling SLI for the first time. Historically I have been a single card kind of guy but maybe its time to branch out.

I current have an EVGA GTX780 FTW:

I am thinking about grabbing a 2nd card while they are so cheap. I am strapped for cash so I have been considering pairing my current EVGA with an Asus GTX780 DirectCU II:

The Asus card is about $70 cheaper at this moment. The differences are about 100MHz on the core, boost, and memory clocks.

Will I be gimping my current FTW by pairing it with this Asus? Anyone currently own an Asus card that can speak to some simple OC that could close the gap between the 2 cards?

I currently have a Gigabyte mobo that has space between the 2 PCI-e slots for better airflow.

Thanks for any thoughts or insights.

Well after looking at the options I chose to grab a GTX980 instead of going SLI. No new PSU required and when I sell my GTX780 it will be much less out of pocket.

Was probably a good choice, the 980 is an amazing GPU :)
