We're aware of the issue. It's related to Amazon rebooting its servers (our forums are hosted on AWS). It was supposed to be happening throughout the weekend and be over with today, but as you can see it is still happening. We're doing what we can, but unfortunately, it boils down to how quickly Amazon can get things up and running smoothly again; this is a little out of our hands.

I tried closing my account because of this, but I got an error message. What gives? I'm just going to have to unsubscribe from all threads and abandon this site, then.

Really? One or two days of inconvenience due to server side issues and you are going to quit over it? Do you throw away your car when the battery dies? Throw out the house when you need a new hot water heater or have a leak the plumber can't get to immediately? Ditch the girlfriend or wife when she's sick? You get the idea.

So I logged onto Tom's Guide, signed in, and was never kicked out. Then I returned to this site and behold, after refreshing the page numerous times, I remain signed in!! So does this really mean that the site has already been fixed???

Things have been mostly fine for a few days. There was never anything wrong with the site itself. Like I kept saying here and in various other threads, Amazon was rebooting and updating their servers, servers that the Tom's sites are hosted on, resulting in the connection issues. It was inconvenient, sure, but all it really did was force people to take a break from the forums for a few days. I take it you are no longer going through with your threats and ultimatums, then?
