If anyone was interested in buying the NZXT S340 released yesterday, just thought ide share my thoughts and a few quick snaps of my build.

So this case can be had for 70-80 dollars, which let me say is amazing value. There aren't many cases that look as swish or have as interesting a layout for such little monies.

Ill just note a few cons, as the pros are pretty much what you see really is what you get with this one. If you like what you see in the promos and the cons don't bother you, buy it up.

Cons:
Firstly, the case is heavy, its all steel construction and coming from an all aluminium Lian Li, this case weighs in at more than twice that, easily, despite having no HDD cage.

Second, the paint finish quality is pretty average, you can see waves and ripples in the exterior paint job, but that's just because its cheap, so I would think that's pretty normal at this price point.

Third, the threading on screws and posts is generally nightmarish and this is partly due to everything being painted and probably in some part due to the overall quality, not a big deal but can be irritating when building.

Fourth, while this case has dust filters, there are none on the top fan slot and the PCIe area is way way open, so if you don't install a top mounted case fan, you are gonna get dust. If you try and reverse the airflow of the case (even with fan filters), it's gonna get dusty. Not a huge con, depends how you are going to build it.

Fifth, no top mounted 240/280mm radiator support so if you do have one, it's going to need to go in the front of the case and push hot air towards the interior and they made reversing the airflow kind of a hassle, so reversing it is gonna be a dusty business. I can see why they chose not to do one, keeping the footprint nice and small, but it will probably turn off some people right away, so it's a con.

Last, the cable management bar inhibits push/pull radiator installation. The only type of radiator you can get in here is a 120mm push/pull on the bottom intake. But, you can remove the bar entirely and put whatever you want in there, so kind of barely a con unless you are super in love with the cable bar.

*** An R9 290 will fit with push/pull but a longer card or a thicker radiator is going to prevent that.

Otherwise the case is pretty boss, the design is great, heaps of room inside considering the overall dimensions. Building is a little cramped and the overall quality when you up close and personal is only OK, but at the price it looks probably better than any other case available right now.

System in there:
i5 2500k @4.4Ghz + Coolermaster V6GT
8GB GSkill Sniper 1866mhz DDR3
ASrock Extreme 3 Gen 3
Asus R9 290 + Kraken X31 and Kraken G10
EVGA Supernova 750w G2

Some low res snaps, for your viewing horror.
