is the LG 34UC97 not a true 34" screen then? Thats what their website says:

The 34UC97 is supposed to basically be the same as the 34UM95 but curved. There are some minor differences like the stand and the usb ports but that is about it.
I personally just bought the 34UM95 a month ago and absolutely love the monitor. I am happy with the purchase because of the port differences on the back and I am not clear on if the curve actually provides any real advantages.

I think that's awesome for gaming. I've never been interested in multi-monitors gaming because of the edges of the screens, but this is just perfect. Curved monitors are a great idea compared to curved TVs. And Ultra-Wide Curved Monitors are an even better idea. Of course, it HAS to be IPS, otherwise the curvature will create color shifts and eneven picture quality.

I have to say, even though it's not curved, it's fantastic. Yes, a curved display would be amazing, but not for the added cost. I could barely swing the 34UM94 as it is.

I have a 34um95P.
Great monitor. Good colors (hey, it's an IPS). Huge. Like staring at the view screen of the NCC-1701.
Compared it to an Asus PG278Q which I also have.
The best thing in the world would be the LG (curved or flat) with a 144hz refresh rate and g-sync.
Sadly I think we will be waiting a long time for that.
(ps Linus does a video review of this monitor and talks a bit about the advantages of the curve)

Curvature is way too low. For example, Samsung's monitor has a 4000mm radius of curvature.
This means that, in order for every part of the display (horizontally) to be equidistant to your eyes and to be viewed at 0° angle, you have to step 4 meters away.
I don't have to say I'll be waiting for a version with shorter radius of curvature.
