I really love the idea of using my i5 15 watt CPU and ram in a desktop motherboard. they do make desktop pga(g1 and g2) socket desktop mini itx motherboards but theyre all industrial and very expensive.

it costs right now about 30 bucks a month to run my beast. need an everyday computer so i can put my saturday computer up.

$30 a month? How did you get that figure? That's a 300W load 24/7, if it's ~15¢ per kW·h. There's no way in hell your PC uses that much.

I doubt that a 15w CPU has a much lower idle figure than an 87W one - those are peak, not idle.

That is way too high, so unless your house is powered by hamsters, that can't be accurate. And the reason you don't use a 15w CPU in a desktop is because it would be the exact thing as a laptop, just bigger for no reason. I mean, if you really want the experience of a desktop with the power consumption of a laptop, you could saw off the screen of a laptop, throw the laptop inside a case, and run a cable to a monitor.
