I recently bought a G.Skill Ripjaw series 4gb Ram and decided to get another one.. However, i messed up and bought a slightly different variant.

the original had the following specs:
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL
Timing: 9-9-9-24-2N

and I realized that I just bought this one:
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL
Timing 9-9-9-24

The only difference I'm seeing is that the standard Ripjaw has "2N" in its timing section

Should I cancel the order or is it ok to mix these two?

No never mix two different ram types. Sometimes even two different ram sets that are made by the same manufacturer and same models will not work. I suggest canceling it and buying the same exact model of ram just in case.

Its not two 2GB modules.. I had a 4gb single stick and I'm getting another 4gb single stick.. only difference is the model number and Timing..

EDIT
Just tried to cancel but it was already shipped. Guess 'll have to send it back when it gets here.. ugh.. really was hoping it wouldnt be much of a problem

Also, I realized that I gave the wrong info on the Ripjaw X

its actually:
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9S-4GBXL

Base timings are the same yes, the original RJs have been around a lot longer, the RJ X model was released with the introduction of Sandy Bridge and uses different ICs and slightly tighter advanced (secondary and tertiary timings)....I'd say chances are 70/30 they will play nice, might take a couple minor timings/voltage adjustments at worse - since you already ordered - give a try together - if any problem give me a shout
