I'm going to pull trigger on this build this week. I will game and web browse, no overclocking, although may in future. I game at 1440p with ultra, and still have a ton of big games to play ie watch dogs, hitman etc Any suggestions welcome..

I'm debating whether to add a second gtx 980, comments would be welcome from people who know more than me :)

The GTX 980 is very new and, in many places hard to get, so there are very few people with dual (or even single) GTX 980 experience, beyond what is already available in the reviews. The reviews suggest that 1440p with ultra is doable, although a second GPU may be needed for Crysis 3.

The second GPU could be added later as needed, so I think that discussion is a bit moot at the moment.

Why get a K chip if you do not plan to overclock? OTOH, the tweaked and cheaper and lower power GTX 970s can match reference GTX980 performance.

Your build, especially if a second GTX 980 is to be added, probably needs a better CPU cooler than stock because most of those cards still dump significant energy into the case air.

This is generic advice. For more specifics you will probably have to wait a month or two.

Ah, the OLD spelling :)

The very commonly recommended Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is quite quiet and good value. If you need/want significantly more quiet than that I suggest that you research ultra quiet coolers.

is hyper 212 evo cooler quieter than stock cpu fan?

also with the fractal r4, do the case fans need replacing? I see it has 2 below optical drive bays, does this mean door needs to be kept open?
