Have you bought it already?

I assume the PSU is a CX-series. If you haven't bought the rig yet I'd change it to something from Tier 1 or Tier 2 A or B from this list: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html
You should also consider the GTX970. It's on par with or slightly above the R9 290 while consuming way less power. The price is similar.

If you have already bought the system you have nothing to worry about. My points above aren't huge points, it's optimization really. Your rig gets two thumbs up from me.

As ''Vexillarius'' said great rig, but if you haven't bought it definitely go with the GTX 970.
nVIDIA FTW

Thanks for the answers. But no offense I know there are controversies about amd and nvidia so are you guys suggesting the 970 because of that. Be honest, I want the best rig possible for the awesome price I came up with

No, that's not the main reason to consider nVIDIA. Just saying it generally performs better. You will get the best bang for your buck

No offense taken.

At the moment I like Nvidia more, but that's because of merit. If AMD makes a better card I'll change in a heartbeat. The kind of brand loyalty you see on a lot of GPU forums needs to go away in my opinion.

In short, I recommend the 970 because it's the better card, not because it's Nvidia.

Nice.

I too agree the 970 is the better card. It is definitely faster than the 290, and is on par with or faster than a 290X.

Another benefit is that the 970 runs much cooler and quieter. Hawaii is a hot chip.
