This'll be my first time putting together a PC of any sort, and I'm currently looking at this list right now: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xnWYRB

From what I can tell, this would be a good mid-range gaming PC and wouldn't have much issue running games at high/ultra at 60 FPS. I could very easily be wrong, though, since I am incredibly new to this. Are there any inherent or glaring issues with this build that I should know of? And what sort of performance could I expect?

You have a good build there just get a different PSU than corsair cx (poor quality) get this instead http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650snlb... and get a pair of 2x4 gb ram instead (dual channel ram performs at least 20% faster than single stick)

yes this build will give about 60 or close to 60 fps in most of the games if you play them at 1080p resolution or lower.
