I am looking at three options:

a) 24" monitor ~$110
b) 27" monitor ~$200
c) 24" 144hz monitor $250

I spend half of my time surfing/reading, watching movies on my connected TV, and the other half playing games like League of Legends and some first person games like Saints Row.

I may get the 3d kit if I get the 144hz monitor; although, I can see that being a novelty that I use a couple of times and set aside. I am really looking at it because I have heard how smooth it is.

I am also not sure if my system is capable of driving the 144hz monitor.

I have an a10-6800k @ 4.9 and 1086 on the GPU side, I believe that is the only relevant information for my setup that I can think of.

Thank you in advance!

for you needs a 24" or 27" 60Hz monitor is all you need, An IPS/PLS display type even better, as for your majority of uses those panel types would suit you better.

I ended up purchasing the 27" Acer H6 IPS monitor. Just ordered it for $195 shipped from Newegg.
