I personally prefer AMD card's over nvidia. No particular reason just been using them for a long time and have grown accustom. I know about mantle and that certain ati created specific games etc. have better fps then an ati intel cpu combo. I personally like intel cpu's a hell of a lot more then amd cpu's and i know a bit about what intels got in the works, yet nothing about amd. So the question is not including mantel is their a significant difference in fps with a ati gpu amd cpu combo vs an intel one? Also any additional info on amd cpu refreshes or stuff they have in the works is welcomed info.

The difference will be based on the specific CPU and card. Gaming wise, an i5 will be better than an 8350 in most all games.

Mantle is specific to AMD GPU's, not their CPU's. It will work with an Intel processor as long as you have an AMD GPU capable of using Mantle.
