well there are lots of potential shared file that could be the cause, and there are 64 bit and 32 bit versions of the same file that can cause this error. Does your error message indicate the file name associated with the error code?
Sometimes the event viewer log might have more details.
I guess you could also get this error during setup of the program if you don't have proper access rights to the directory that the program is being installed from or running in. See if you can install the program into another directory that you have full rights to use.
