Hello.
I am looking to upgrade my 7-year old PC which was custom built by a relative. I am new to all this and hoping to build this one myself, so need all of your help. :)
My choice of processor- Intel Core i7 4790s

Please suggest motherboard, graphics card, PSU, cooler (if needed), cabinet, RAM, SSD/internal HDD, internal optical drive which has the best price to performance ratio in the current market and will work best with the above processor of my choice.

Also please suggest a good budget printer too. What should I go for? Laser or the others? I'll be needing it badly.

Thank you in advance.

a GTX 980 card should do that processor justice. What are you going to use your computer for?

Once you give us a little more detail about what you need, we can help you better. You might not even need an i7 processor!

This is a nice build. I would change the H97 to Z97 for a little increase in price, though.

As of now, my thoughts for getting such a rig is to future-proof my PC for gaming to as long as possible. If I'm not wrong, 4790s belongs to the latest Intel Haswell Refresh series of processors and 65W is its TDP, which is an important issue considering the place I live i.e. Kolkata,India. Also, I may be learning animation later on. Not sure though.

By the way, I'll be needing a good UPS too as voltage fluctuations occur here. Should I get an UPS or a stabilizer? Is UPS a stabilizer too? Need information on this from users. So please comment on this area too. Thank you once again. :)

Knock knock! Are there any newegg.com buyers from India. How's the service of newegg in India? Should I order online from there?

in that case, take anton's build, use an i5-4690k instead. It will save some money and also change the motherboard to a z97 one so that you can overclock if needs be.

I live in India, I just use an UPS. Works fine :)
