The memory I have now is 6Gb of Hynix memory (DDR3 240pin, Cas Latency 11, Timing 11-11-11) The memory I want to addon to my system is a G.Skill Value 8Gb dual channel kit (DDR3 240 Pin, Cas Latency 11, Timing 11-11-11-28) They are both unbuffered and I am wondering if I will have compatibility issues because of the timing.

Thanks,
Double-A

You can do it but most people recommend that you don't due to the potential compatibility issues and the fact that each brand of RAm will behave slightly differently, which makes blue screens more frequent

Ok.... I do not want blue screens. So I'm guessing if I want to upgrade I should just get a kit that will suffice my needs and use the old stuff for something else... Thanks for the help!

Yes, that is the best option really, unless you can find more sticks of the same brand of memory

I found the same brand. But not the same numbers on the sticker. I have Hynix ram and I could find any with the same numbers on newegg.

Fair enough, I would just be safe in that case and still get a whole new set then
