Earlier this year I was telling everyone upgrade from XP or your PC will be a security risk etc etc but a few people have ignored my advice and their PC's still seem to be running fine, now of course it may not be obvious if their PC has been compromised.

Also I just did a quick google search for "XP security problems" and "xp security issues since 2014" and all I find bar lots and lots of articles from before April 2014 saying you need
to upgrade is one report of a serious issue with IE that was fixed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating still using XP and I certainly wouldnt want to use ANY OS that wasnt receiving regular security updates for say internet banking etc

Surely if XP was as wide open as we were lead to believe there would have been numerous reports of widescale problems by now, 6 months later? It would be in MS interest as well to get even more people to upgrade, but after finding no reports of security issues post April 2014 I'm a little dubious that it was as bad as was made out.

well most of the security problem with xp are from the internet. it is easily fix with a good firewall. most of my colleague still uses xp. but their main system is windows 7 or 8. but as time progress there will be more and more security issues for not so much.

Also, virus scanners are still supported in XP in case something slips through your firewall. I definately recommend a newer OS, but XP can still be used with caution.
