Hi,
So since my current desktop (not custom) isn't working I've been thinking that i want to build a gaming PC since i mainly used the desktop for games. Now as i have little to no knowledge on computer parts and compatibility and whats good i asked my friend who built his own gaming PC to give me a list of parts that i should get and this is what he sent me:

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($199.99 @ NCIX)
Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($144.99 @ NCIX)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($109.65 @ NCIX)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($119.99 @ NCIX)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB Double Dissipation Video Card ($279.99 @ NCIX)
Case: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer ATX Mid Tower Case ($90.98 @ NCIX)
Power Supply: SeaSonic G-750 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($149.99 @ NCIX)
Optical Drive: Asus BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer ($69.99 @ NCIX)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($107.99 @ NCIX)
Total: $1273.56

So my budget is $1500CAD (including tax can go a bit higher up to$1600CAD).
I wanted to ask if this build is good, and i also want to be able to play the newer games on ultra with high fps. I welcome all opinions and suggestions

I would go with PIEapple`s build, but I still have some comments to it:
1. The Cooler Master 212 Evo is better and cheaper than the H55, so I would go with that.
2. I don`t know anything about the WD Purple HDD`s, but it`s a 5400 RPM one, so I would go with the initial Barracuda.

If you apply these changes you`ll have a better build with the same budget ;)
