Part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/sifferz/saved/MZ8Pxr

Just to clarify, this is my second time building a rig

Notes: I'm aiming for 60+ fps steady 1080p gaming, (mostly) fire and forget max settings. As for RAM, I'm just pulling 8 of the 16 gigs out of my current system and planting them in this one, as the idea is for my current rig to go to my wife. I have a case picked out that isn't on part picker, and I'm mostly just after any advice or ideas before I pull the trigger, as multiple perspectives are always wise. I'm not really aiming for the 1440 jump too much, as I really am happy with 1080, it's still pretty expensive, and I value 60fps more than the extra resolution.

My wife and I both have monitors already, so I'm not planning on an upgrade in that department for the time being - mostly just hoping that G-Sync monitors come down in price in the next year or two, as that looks outstanding.

Thanks for the help!

Drop the cooler because you cannot overclock that CPU.

Otherwise it looks fine. i would prefer an h97 board though.

Why that processor (I know why I chose it) You could get a little more GHz with the 4690.
That's cheaper motherboard, I would want a H87 or H97. Is there a reason for your choice?
The system/GPU combination will probably cool well with some case fans and an air cooler. Was there some reason for liquid cool?

How is the airflow in your case, will you need more case fans?

I would never consider the 4590 or 4690, when the 4460 is so much cheaper. You will NEVER see the difference between those few hundred mhz anyway. When paired with the gtx970, they will all perform identically.

Better mb with many more options
Faster M.2 hard drive instead of the SATA SSD
Cooler replaced with a Hyper 212 .............. there is no case in the build so cant check heights compatibility . Quieter than the water cooler
Gold rated psu for efficiency

Unless...unless you live by microcenter.

Probably the case I'm going with - not a final choice, but it looks to fit my needs and have plenty of fan slots.
I think you're all right about removing the closed loop cooler - too much money, overkill, and I really have no intention of OC'ing the processor - so I'll get a $20-$30 third party one

Mainly went with that PSU due to the promotional price/rebate putting it right on par in price with one more in line with my actual needs.

What are the benefits of an m.2 over a typical SSD?

Chose the processor over others because it performs *slightly* better for *slightly* more money - not too worried about $10-$20 difference
