iPhone 5 running iOS 8.0.2 MAJOR bug

I have an iPhone 5 (that is actually a factory replacement from early June 2014) and it is currently running iOS 8.0.2. I have been experiencing the usual bugs that people seem to having like poor battery life, sluggish animations, so just the normal kind of bugs that we seem to get out of a new iOS update.

Well, I have been experiencing some ridiculous issues that have proved to be extremely troublesome. The first (which is extremely obnoxious but relatively harmless) is my touchscreen becomes really unresponsive. It becomes a challenge to turn off the phone without doing a hard reset. The second is the phone will lock up entirely. It may resolve itself after 30 seconds to a minute or it may just remain frozen until the phone is restarted. Lastly, and the most extreme bug (I've never heard of a bug like this and Apple was less than helpful as they haven't seen anything like it), is my phone has now factory reset on its own 3 times now. 2 of these times it was on the charger either dead or nearly dead. Both times the phone was being turned back on. The other time it was just in my pocket and my music stopped playing and I noticed that I had an Apple splash screen. When it was done, my phone was prompting me to set it up as if it was brand new.

I contacted Apple to make them aware of the bug. They told me that they wanted me to restore my phone as a new phone through iTunes because they wanted to look at some diagnostics to see what was causing it (although I'm not sure that anything would be shown since it was reset) and during the process, iTunes was spitting out a number of errors. If I remember they were error codes 9 and 14. My phone was essentially bricked.

Apple then told me that they didn't know what was happening and to try to restart my internet. I don't see how that would help since everything that was being done was now offline. Long story short, restarting the modem and router did absolutely nothing and it took about another 15 attempts to restore through iTunes before it finally worked.

This was after the first time it factory reset on its own. It has now happened two more times since then and I have yet to contact Apple since they clearly don't know what to do about it. The phone is no longer under warranty, so I don't see another replacement coming my way.

After every reset, I did not restore using my iCloud backup since I was curious to know if something in that backup may have caused it, but that does not seem to be the case.

I guess I don't really need help, but I wanted to make some people aware of this issue that I'm having. Luckily, I don't have anything of major importance on my phone, but it temporary disrupt someone's life if they have all of their info on their phone.
