Hey guys, so I'm not entirely sure if this is a dumb question, but that's fine by me. I'm making my first PC build, and I'm having some trouble decided on whether getting a monitor with built-in speakers, and monitor without speaker but purchasing external speakers, or buying a monitor with built-in speakers AND buying speakers. My question: what is the best option for me? I plan to game a lot. I'm not made out of money, so I'm trying to stay cost-effective. Thanks for the responses in advance!

External speakers with a surround mixer, stereo receiver or even self powered version is the best options. Integrated monitor speakers are almost always of terrible quality and even "good" ones, suck.

I wouldn't refuse to buy a monitor because it had them, you can just not connect the sound to them or disable the sound to them if it's HDMI sound, but I wouldn't use it as my main sound or even to accentuate the external speakers as it would likely ruin the experience.
