New Build. Looking for advice

I am going to be building my very 1st PC sometime next month but before I go out and get all the parts I would like to get some tips, advice, recommendations. I have looked for parts for a while, but hearing what some of the expert builders will really help me out in the end. I plan on using this build to play games and some occasional school work here and there. Below I will leave the link to to all the parts I have chosen. I have not chosen a monitor, but if you could suggest one, that would be great.

Get this GPU instead the gtx 660 is 2 generations behind http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-912v303020 and if you can spare some extra money then this one http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9280gaming3g much better than gtx 660 in performance both has more vram which is now needed in most of the demanding games.
