My new build just cost $4437 plus $550 in taxes "canadian dollars" and that includes the 75 bucks for installing every thing.
Anyway i had a idea of what i wanted wich was a black and red theme and something with a WOW factor when someone looked at it and too be future proof for about 4 years.

The sales rep pretty much help me pick everything and the pc's parts wont be in for a week and i can change anything as needed before they build it so i want advice if i should change anything or i picked anything wrong that would be better. " wanted a no compromise build"

I wanted the $1100 i7 5960X but the sales rep said i didnt need that cause i aint video editing and only gaming and using it for 4k , also i didnt go with the 32gb DDR4 ram but instead the 16gb DDR4. I saved enough money by not buying those to get a nice tablet but maybe should i have not done that? Here is what i got

intel I7-5820k
corsair h100i cpu cooler
asus rampage extreme X99 motherboard "awsome for color and most features"
corsair ddr4 vengeance LPX 4x4gb 2666 ram
3x Western digital RE 7200 rpm enterprise class drives "keep pc on 24/7 but cost alot $$"
samsung 850 pro 250gb SSD
Asus BW-16D1HT xl bluray writer
corsair 760t black case with 3x corsair air series fans in red
Case dressing bitfenix LED strips x2 red x1 white
corsair digital power supply AX1200i 1200 watt platinum & $100 on individual red psu sleeves
2x MSI geforce GTX 980 Twin frozr for sli

Did the sales guy and i do good on picking? will my pc be future proof and still decent in 3 years? and should i change anything that will make it better?

That is a ton of money to be spending on a PC, but it is as good as any you will find.

It was absolutely the right call IMO not to go for the $1100 processor or 32GB of RAM; those would both just be way overkill and not do much to improve actual performance in any meaningful way.

The things I would've done would've been to go for a bigger SSD, like 500GB, just for the convenience, and a multi-monitor setup, since this can certainly handle it.

It will definitely be a very good machine in 3 years, but there is no such thing as "future proof." If you go 5, 6 years down the road, the difference between the top-of-the-line PC today and the top-of-the-line PC from a year ago becomes insignificant; there is always something better. My typical advice is stick to a budget of $1,000 if you just want a great machine, then replace it in a few years and you'll still come out ahead of the guy who spend $4K when you bought your original one. If you just want a system that's going to impress, though, then the way you did it is hard to beat.

edit: oh yeah, also, why THREE hard drives for storage? Are they going to be in RAID, and if so, which kind? What do you plan on using them for?
